The House

The Platonist Wine Company was founded on a suspicion: that the great Mediterranean varietals had more to say, and that South Africa was where they would say it. We are not a farm and not a négociant. We are a house, in the old sense: a name, a standard, and a circle of people who answer to it.

Every wine is made in partnership with a winemaker we consider among the country’s finest, in their cellar, to a standard we agree on before the first grape is picked. Our job is the idea, the blend, the label and the promise. Theirs is the craft. The bottle is where we meet.
