Conversationswith Tuscany
four wines, one theme, and a table to debate it
Nº I · Stellenbosch · 2025
The Prelude
a dialogue begun in Italy
Every conversation has a first word. The Prelude is ours: Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc raised in Cape soil, speaking with a Tuscan accent. It is the opening line of a dialogue between two hemispheres: the discipline of the old world, the freedom of the new.

A Love Letter
from Stellenbosch, home
Written in vine rather than ink, sent from the granite foothills of Stellenbosch to the hills of Tuscany. The swallow on the label flies the route our thinking has always taken, south to north and back, carrying the affection of one great wine culture for another.

Memento Mori
conversations about life and time
On the label, a Roman mosaic: a skeleton reclining with a cup, reminding the banquet that time is the only true vintage. Memento Mori is our meditation on impermanence, a wine to be opened deliberately, with people who matter, because the hour will not return.

Sangiovese
The Grand Old Duke
The grape of Montalcino and Chianti, the grand old duke himself, transplanted to the Cape and asked, politely, to speak his mind. A varietal study in what happens when Tuscany's noblest citizen takes up residence under African light.
