We keep the circle deliberately small. Apply here; every application is read personally. Once approved, your cellar opens, and each new vintage is offered to you before anyone else has heard of it.

Applying with The Prelude in mind.

The cellar door: apply for membership or sign in

Applications are reviewed personally, usually within two working days. Approved members receive first access to every allocation. You will also receive The Letter: release news and allocation openings, a few a year.

By applying you accept our Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

How the allocation works

  1. 1

    Apply

Every application is read personally, usually within two working days.

  2. 2

    Request

Each release is offered to members first. You request the bottles you want, up to the limit.

  3. 3

    Confirm

A request becomes a purchase only when we confirm it and invoice you: by email, directly. No card, no online payment.

Asked of the house

Does membership cost anything?

· No. Membership is earned, not sold. There is no fee, ever. I keep the circle small so that every member's allocation means something.

Am I obliged to buy?

· Never. A request only becomes a purchase when I confirm it and invoice you. Ignore a release entirely and your membership stands.

How do I pay?

· There is no card and no online checkout. When I confirm your allocation, I invoice you directly and we arrange payment like adults.

Where do you ship?

· Within South Africa, directly. In the Benelux, through our appointed importers as they come aboard; members there will be introduced.

How long until my application is reviewed?

· I read every application myself, usually within two working days. You will hear from me either way.
